Bruno Fernandes looks set to have a new partner in the Manchester United midfield – and he appears to be happy about it.
The Red Devils have agreed a £40million deal with Ajax to sign Donny van de Beek and won the race for his signature despite late efforts from Tottenham to hijack the move.
Fernandes is familiar with being wanted by Tottenham and Manchester United, with both clubs keen on acquiring his signature last summer before he headed to Old Trafford in January.
And he quickly reacted to the breaking news of his incoming new team-mate as he was spotted ‘liking’ an Instagram post breaking the news.
Van de Beek, 23, will arrive at Old Trafford in the coming days.
He has agreed in principle a five-year deal with an option of an extra 12 months.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer impressed the Dutchman with his vision and determination to sign him to tip the balance and ensure United won the race.
He will now add another top class option in midfield with strong attacking capabilities to operate with Fernandes and Paul Pogba.

Whilst he will add competition for the pair, he is also expected to give Ole Gunnar Solskjaer flexibility to rotate in what will be a gruelling season with their Champions League return.
Fernandes’ initial reaction seems to suggest he has no qualms with the incoming competition, instead being happy to welcome another top class player to the club as he looks to achieve big things.
Speaking in June, Fernandes outlined his long-term ambitions to challenge for titles at Manchester United and the signing of Van de Beek would signal another positive step.
Speaking to The Dial Up, by Soccer Bible, Fernandes said: “You need to know that when you come and join a team like this, you have to focus on winning titles. Titles are the most important thing. It doesn’t matter how you play but you have to play to win.
“This is the kind of team that is born to be at the top. The expectations I have for Manchester United are big. This is my dream club. But when I arrived I saw just how big it was. The fans, the quality of the club, the training ground. I thought I knew how big Manchester United are but I realised that I did not think big enough. It is an enormous club.”
