Frank Lampard will be keen to continue impressive transfer business this summer.
The Blues boss has already confirmed the signings of Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech ahead of next season.
Both players were confirmed as Lampard’s first two signings at the club before the transfer window opened but there is still work to be done at Stamford Bridge.
A range of names have been linked with moves to West London before the window shuts on October 5 and the Blues will be keen to get more business done as soon as possible.
Defensive issues had somewhat limited the progression of Lampard’s side towards the back end of the 2019/20 campaign and additions already made further up the pitch could shift the focus elsewhere.
Signing a centre-back and left-back have been ear-marked as two key areas for the Blues to strengthen this summer if they are to have any chance of competing at the very top of the Premier League next season.
Here are the latest Chelsea transfer rumours.
Reguilon set for Real Madrid exit
Real Madrid are reportedly set to allow Chelsea transfer target Sergio Reguilon leave the club this summer.
According to Sport, the defender could be available for as little as £22.4million with the Spanish champions viewing Ferland Mendy as the number one option at the club.
The Blues are believed to be in the market for a left-back this summer given the lack of defensive cover provided by Marcos Alonso and Emerson Palermi.
However, Reguilon’s performances have so far shown him to be an attacking full-back and so it remains to be seen whether he is the man to directly address that issue.
Havertz wants Chelsea move more than the club – reports
Bayern Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz is believed to be more interested in a move to Stamford Bridge than Chelsea are in bringing him to the club.
That is according to Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol who reports that the 21-year-old is eager on a move to Chelsea this summer.
Solhekol told Sky Sports News, cited by the Express, that the German international may even be more willing to get a deal sorted than Lampard’s side at this moment in time.
He said: “This is what’s interesting, he wants to come to Chelsea maybe even more than Chelsea want him.
“You don’t often see that from a player as good as Kai Havertz, no disrespect to Chelsea.
“But he really, really wants to come to Chelsea, he wants to work under Frank Lampard, he wants to live in London, he wants to play in the Premier League.”
Blues in talks with PSG captain
Chelsea are reportedly in talks with Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva over a possible move to Stamford Bridge.
According to the Athletic, talks have progressed between Chelsea and the Brazilian’s representatives but there are a number of issues yet to be resolved.
Silva’s side play Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final on Sunday night with his contract set to expire at the end of this month.
For Chelsea, it could be a case of weighing up the pros and cons of a move for the 35-year-old defender.
It is believed that Silva has firm belief in his abilities despite nearing the end of his career and sees the Premier League as an attractive proposition.
