Cologne Christmas market breaks are going for £69pp with flights but be quick

Cologne boasts one of Europe’s best Christmas markets so you’d be forgiven for thinking that during the festive period could be expensive.

But thanks to a new deal from Wowcher, you could actually bag some temptingly cheap breaks to Cologne from £69pp – and that includes both your hotel and return flights!

In fact, there are two-night stays to the German city from £69pp, three-night stays from £119pp and four-night stays from £149pp.

You’ll get to choose between two hotels – the Trip Inn Hotel Conti or the Holiday Inn Express Koln-Mulheim, both of which are approximately half an hour away (if you use public transport) from the Cologne Cathedral, where the market takes place.

You can already book Wowcher’s Cologne Christmas markets deal online but you’ll need to do so by midnight on Saturday 19th October when the offer expires.

The setting is pretty magical

The good news is that there’s ample opportunity to bag a festive break in the lead-up to the big day itself, as the deal is valid for travel until the 23rd December 2019.

Then of course Cologne’s Christmas market has everything you could need to get you into the festive spirit.

Think hundreds of traditional wooden stalls offering everything from gingerbread creations to mulled wine and hot chocolate, as well as clothes, arts and crafts and decorations.

The city also offers up plenty of fascinating attractions such as the quirky Chocolate Museum, the picturesque Old Town where you’ll find heaps of cosy restaurants and bars, and of course the Cologne Cathedral itself.

It’s worth noting that the price is based on two people sharing a room, so you’ll need to buy two vouchers, but that still makes for a tempting deal.

Meanwhile, the cheapest vouchers tend to be based on flights from London Gatwick, London Luton and London Stansted – there are alternatives available but you may need to pay an extra fee. The flights are also based on hand luggage only fares.
