Cruise to sail around the world in 2022 but it costs £39,990 to be on board

A cruise ship is set to sail an epic journey around the world covering 28 countries and 58 ports in 138 days – but you’ll need £39,990 if you want to be on board.

Viking Cruises is launching a new World Cruise in 2022, and unsurprisingly it will visit heaps of bucket-list worthy destinations including Sydney, Auckland, Bali, Ho Chi Minh, Yangon, and Mumbai.

But what exactly is included in the hefty price tag?

Well for a start, all of the breathtaking destinations, whether it’s a trip to Hawaii’s ‘Garden Island’ Kauai, an overnight stay in Sydney with plenty of time to explore Sydney Harbour, or a visit to Singapore with highlights such as guided tours or even a Night Safari at the world’s first nocturnal wildlife park.

The cruise also stops off at London, with visits planned to Greenwich as well as iconic sights from Big Ben to the London Eye.

Guests will also get Business Class flights, transfers to/from the ship, all gratuities onboard and complimentary visa services as part of the package. Oh and yes – there is a drinks package included too.

As for the ship itself? The cruise will take place on Viking’s new ship Viking Neptune which is currently set to join the fleet in late 2022.

Prices start from £39,990 for the epic journey

The ship, which boasts 47,800 tons and 465 staterooms has everything you’d expect from a luxury break. For a start there are five room types – all of which have private verandas so no matter where you’re staying, you can enjoy beautiful views of the ocean and destinations.

Viking Neptune will also offer two pools – including one with a retractable roof so you can swim whatever the weather – as well as a cocktail lounge and EIGHT dining options from sushi to gourmet burgers.

For those keen to learn more about the destinations they’re visiting, there will be Resident Historians onboard to explain the history and culture for each destination, not to mention plenty of guest lecturers and live performances to help immerse guests into their holiday.

The cruise line says that it’s launched the new sailing due to “strong demand for its World Cruise itineraries”.

The World Cruise is due to sail from December 22, 2022 from Fort Lauderdale in Florida. You can find out more on vikingcruises.co.uk.

Torstein Hagen, Chairman of Viking said: “We are pleased to offer this new opportunity for explorers to circumnavigate the world in comfort.

“World Cruises are truly special voyages, and they continue to be one of our most sought-after offerings. Our 2021-2022 World Cruise has already sold out more than a year in advance, which speaks to the enthusiasm of our guests as they look forward to the return of international travel.”
