Typically going for $79.99, the Fire HD 8 features a solid 8-inch display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 800 at 720p. The tablet is ideal for portability with its total weight coming in at just 12.8 oz, while its 1.5GB of memory and 16GB of storage (expandable up to a whopping 400GB via microSD card) is great for consuming content with ease.
While its display might not knock you out with its specs, it’s perfectly suitable for consuming movies and TV shows on Prime Video, reading Kindle eBooks, and listening to audiobooks on Audible and your favorite songs on Amazon Music. You can also get quick access to Netflix, HBO Now, Spotify, and many more channels and apps available on the Amazon Appstore.
The Fire HD 8 also features Alexa for hands-free navigation, search, and voice commands. It even features video voice calls with the Alexa app. What this tablet lacks in power, it makes up for with all of its entertainment and social media options at a very low cost.
However, if the Fire HD 8 is too small for you, there’s a deal on the Fire HD 10 that can’t be missed. You can save $50 on the 10.1-inch version, which drops the price down to $99.99. Read all about it here.
“I had the previous version of the HD8 and already liked it but unfortunately lost it. As a blessing in disguise, I got this all-new version (8th gen) and I’m very happy with it. It’s more or less the same thing but with some cool new features. Not sure if I know all the new features yet as I just got it a few days ago. Most notably, you can restart the tablet from the same power down menu. Also, you can use the SD card as an extension to your internal memory (card is only specific to the device) or as an external memory card to be used with other devices. Settings is easier to navigate through and easier to understand.”
