DRC violence: Beni victims say attackers wore military uniforms | DR Congo News

Victims of recent attacks by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) armed group in Democratic Republic of Congo’s eastern Beni region have told Aljazeera that their assailants were often dressed in Congolese military fatigue and killed indiscriminately.

Nearly one thousand people have been killed since October.

The ADF was formed in western Uganda in the 1990s, but after being defeated by the Ugandan government, the group crossed the border into the DRC – where they have remained for nearly 20 years.

Al Jazeera’s Catherine Soi reports from Beni.
