Emirates’ onboard bar on its A380 aircraft is already a pretty luxurious offering for any passenger, but in a new picture it’s taken glamour to a whole new level.
The airline took to Instagram to unveil the onboard bar’s new look, which has seen heaps of the furniture, the bar itself and plane interiors covered in sparkling crystals.
Sceptics will question whether such a project is worth the cost and effort – and they’d be right to be doubtful.
In fact, the diamond-covered onboard bar isn’t real, but rather the result of some impressive photo editing skills.
However, while the diamond covered interiors aren’t real, the onboard bar itself does exist, and it’s pretty swanky even without the bling.
The eye-catching makeover is actually the work of ‘crystal artist’ Sara Shakeel.
Sara, a former dentist, regularly edits images and gives them a bedazzled finish, before posting the results on her Instagram account.
In fact in December 2018 one of her images went viral after she edited images of an Emirates plane to make it look like it was covered in diamonds.
The Emirates plane was just another fun project on her list ahead of a trip to Milan when she would be flying with the airline, but it sent aviation fans into meltdown with many trying to work out if a diamond-covered plane could even take off.
At the time, Emirates shared the image and it seems that they have continued to be a fan of her work.
Alongside the image of the bedazzled onboard bar bar, the company wrote: “We know you liked our Bling 777, so here’s the Emirates ‘Diamond’ A380 onboard lounge. Image by @sarashakeel #EmiratesAirline #FlyEmiratesFlyBetter”.
(You can check out more of Sara Shakeel’s work on Instagram).
Of course there will still be plenty of glamour for passengers flying on board the airline’s A380 aircraft.
We’re talking private suites and shower spas in First Class, to flat-bed seats in Business and a seriously swish Economy cabin offering.
Then of course there’s the onboard lounge where passengers can tuck into treats or even sip on cocktails.
