Everton have raided one of Carlo Ancelotti’s former teams Napoli – to complete the signing of Allan and are expected to follow that up by bringing James Rodriguez to the club.
The 29-year-old has penned a three-year contract at Goodison Park to reunite with his old boss.
According to Sky Sports, the Toffees have forked out £22.3million plus add ons for the midfielder which could potentially take the deal to £25m.
Allan said: “It is a real pleasure to sign for Everton. I am immensely happy to be here.
“I hope, like I have done in my entire career, I contribute with my performances together with my teammates and that I put in some great games, great performances and win important things.
“It is a club with rich history in the Premier League, has real ambition and then there is Professor Ancelotti. He has done everything possible to bring me here.
“It is the size of the club and the name of the coach which means you don’t think twice about coming to Everton.”
The Merseyside club are now expected to follow up the signing of Allan by landing Real Madrid star Rodriguez.

The 29-year-old is believed to have undergone a medical at the club on Thursday and should put pen to paper in the coming days providing there are no hiccups.
Abdoulaye Doucoure is also due to complete a switch from Watford after Everton agreed a £25m fee for his services in what will be a new look midfield.
The 27-year-old Frenchman will sign a four-year deal after also completing a medical on Thursday.
