Furious David Moyes demands to know who was on VAR as he fumes at Tottenham goal

A furious David Moyes demanded to know who was on VAR after a controversial Tottenham goal was given against West Ham.

Spurs’ opener came after the ball rolled down Davinson Sanchez’s arm before hitting West Ham’s Tomas Soucek and crossing the line for an own goal.

Hammers boss Moyes was livid the decision to award a goal wasn’t overturned.

And the Scot hit out at the inconsistency in the game, after West Ham had a last-minute goal scored against Sheffield United ruled out for a tenuous handball.

In his post-match interview, Moyes said on Sky Sports: “Who was on VAR tonight? Who was doing VAR tonight? Do we know who it was?”

Upon learning David Coote was on VAR, he replied: “He’s not very good, eh?”

Moyes added: “I have only just seen it. I can’t believe they have ruled that as a goal.

“After the rules that ‘if any handball which leads to a goal is disallowed?’ We had a great goal scored against Sheffield United in the last minute [ruled out] for something, and they have not ruled that one out?”

Finally, he concluded: “That’s the rules, I don’t think it’s a particularly good rule, but for them to not give that tonight, I can’t believe it.”

Spurs had the ball in the net three times against West Ham, but Son Heung-min’s opener was ruled out for offside.

Soucek’s own goal eventually saw the deadlock broken in the second half before Harry Kane secured all three points for Tottenham.
