Forget getting up early for a game drive – one safari holiday lets you watch the wildlife without having to leave the comfort of your private infinity pool.
Luxury travel company Singita has launched a seriously luxurious new East Africa itinerary, and it’s the stuff of dreams.
We’re talking gorilla treks in Rwanda, views views of the Grumeti Reserve in Tanzania, private game drives, sunrise yoga, private chefs and seriously luxurious villas to call home during your stay.
Unfortunately the price quickly brings you back to reality; the 12-night getaway starts from approximately £166,736. The trip can accommodate up to eight guests, but that still means each person will be forking out £20,842.
So, what exactly do intrepid explorers get for that price tag?
Well, unsurprisingly, it’s a seriously lavish holiday.
For a start you’ll be travelling to Tanzania by private jet, kicking off the holiday with a stay at the incredible Singita Serengeti House.
We’re talking a private villa in the Grumeti Reserve, where you’ll be surrounded by the incredible wilderness. It’s here that you’ll find the outdoor pool which directly overlooks the landscape, including views of some animals such as zebras.
The villa boasts four suites each with en-suite bathrooms, outdoor showers and private terraces, while other highlights include a fitness centre, fire pit and a huge kitchen where private chefs will whip up some delicious meals.
There are heaps of adventures included too such as twice-daily game drives, private yoga sessions and even ‘no touch wellness treatments’ for a bit of pampering.
But that’s not all.
The holiday also includes a stay at the four-bedroom Singita Kataza villa on the edge of the Singita Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda (to get there, guests take a private charter plane followed by a helicopter ride).
This villa alone has everything you could want for a dreamy holiday; its own cinema, a massage treatment room, and a wine cellar. You even get your very own chef and butler to cater to your needs.
The itinerary is pretty wanderlust-inducing here too; we’re talking two private gorilla treks as well as a golden monkey trek in Volcanoes National Park, private cookery lessons, guided birding walks and experiences with local artisans in the Akarabo Garden.
You can find out more about the villas on the Singita website. While this holiday is out of our price range, it doesn’t hurt to dream a little!
