Inside the magical woodland-themed treehouse hidden in the UK countryside

Forget storybooks – a treehouse hidden in Cumbria’s woodlands lets you live out a real-life fairytale.

That’s because the Faraway Treehouse in Cumbria is not only tucked away amidst the dense greenery, but inside it’s completely woodland-themed.

We’re talking beds designed to look like they’re part of tree trunks, twinkling lights, and green vines winding around the furniture.

Then there’s the incredible roll top bath which offers the soak of dreams as it overlooks the green trees and picturesque landscape.

There’s everything you could want for a cosy stay; a woodburner stove, plush sofas that are ideal for sinking into, and even a large balcony from which you can take in the forest views or indulge in a spot of stargazing.

The bathtub of dreams

Oh, and thanks to the nearby pond and river there’s ample opportunity to catch a glimpse of local wildlife too.

The whole property has floor-to-ceiling windows so you can feel fully immersed in the landscape, but if you do want to block out the light, the huge velvet curtains will do the job.

Cuddle up by the woodburner for cosy evenings in

The property is ideal for two adults, but there are also some bunk beds if you want to bring the kids along (after all, there’s heaps they can do from building dens to going on family adventures in the woods, or simply tucking into marshmallows and hot chocolate on the decking).

In the evenings, light the wood-burner and cuddle up on the sofa, taking in those night views without having to brave the colder evenings.

The eclectic decor looks like something out of a storybook

The good news is that you won’t need to break the bank if you do want to check it out for yourself. Prices start from £165 per night on Canopy & Stars, based on two people staying.

Don’t be disheartened if the dates you’re after are booked up – it can be quite a popular property.

The good news is that we’ve done the leg work for you and searched out more fairytale-esque UK stays from medieval castles to Rapunzel-inspired towers, and even a cottage inspired by Disney’s Snow White.
