Jack Wilshere joins Mark Noble in speaking out over West Ham’s transfer business

Jack Wilshere has backed up his captain Mark Noble by taking a swipe at West Ham’s transfer business.

The Hammers sold talented youngster Grady Diangana to West Brom for a fee of £18million this week which has angered club figures.

Diangana, 22, has only made 22 appearances for West Ham after coming through the club’s academy ranks, but spent last season on loan with Baggies where he impressed.

The winger has been tipped for a successful career and Noble was disappointed in the club’s decision to sell.

“As captain of this football club I’m gutted, angry and sad that Grady has left, great kid with a great future,” Noble said.

And Wilshere has now thrown his support behind Diangana in a thinly-veiled dig at West Ham.

Responding to Diangana’s Instagram post announcing his move, Wilshere said: “Go and do your thing at a club that respects you.

“Big player with a big future.”

West Ham are quite well stocked for wide players and David Moyes needs to sell some of his squad in order to fund new recruits.

Diangana was deemed surplus to requirements despite scoring eight times in 31 appearances last season to help West Brom gain promotion from the Championship.

His exit has prompted a furious backlash from fans and the player seemingly leaves West Ham with a heavy heart judging by his social media post.

It read: “I have to say thank you to everyone @WestHam who have helped me to develop and become the player and person I am today, since the age of 10.

“I will forever be grateful for the opportunity to be able to represent such a great club!

“Thank you to the fans for supporting me along the way. You will always have a special place in my heart. Love and peace, God bless.”
