Manchester United are closing in on a deal for Jadon Sancho.
The England international is said to be ‘excited’ by the prospect of a move to Old Trafford as the Red Devils thrash out the details of a £105million deal from Borussia Dortmund.
A breakthrough has been made in terms of negotiating a deal which will see United pay around £70million up front.
Further add-ons involving United’s success and Sancho’s performances could take it up to a British record fee and meet Dortmund’s full valuation.
Sancho is believed to already be close to agreeing personal terms as he eyes a return to England.
The 20-year-old is set to be given the vacant No.7 shirt, which is currently vacant after the departure of Alexis Sanchez, when he arrives at Old Trafford.
Mirror Sport understands Sancho will treble his current £75k-per-week contract and pen a four-year deal worth between £200k-£220k-a-week.
The deal is also set to include an option for an extra year in Manchester United ’s favour.
United’s pursuit of Sancho has been aided by the impending departure of former No.7 Sanchez.
The Chilean is set to join Inter Milan on a free transfer with United freeing him up to leave the club permanently after his season-long loan.
It means they will be freed of his £350,000-a-week wages, saving them a guaranteed £38million and easing their financial burden in order to reinvest in Sancho.
Sancho has this week returned to pre-season training with Dortmund.
But movement means a deal to United looks set to be completed in the near future after the German club set United a deadline of August 10 to agree a deal and sign their young winger.
