The new Chelsea signing, who joined the Stamford Bridge club for a fee of around £70million, heaped praise on the Liverpool boss.
He acknowledged Klopp’s achievements in the game and predicted that the German would be “hungry” to beat Chelsea – and, ultimately, hungry to defend Liverpool’s title.
“He is a big manager and he has achieved a lot in Liverpool,” said Havertz.
“He won the Premier League and the Champions League. I’ve watched all of this and you can only say congratulations.

“I think he is hungry and he wants to win more titles and that’s the reason why we need to play our best football on Sunday afternoon.”
Chelsea were beaten 2-0 by Liverpool on Sunday, with Sadio Mane running riot.
Mane got the better of Andreas Christensen in the first half, with the Norwegian taking him down and being shown a red card for a professional foul.
After the break, Mane took the game to the Blues with two goals.
Klopp said: “Everybody was involved and had a real hand in this result. I loved both goals for different reasons; the first how we played it was really good, top cross, the movement from Sadio in front of the opponent.
“The next goal, we did it the whole game: chase the goalkeeper and when you get the reward it’s especially nice.”
