Legoland Windsor is opening a new multi-million-pound land for 2021 – complete with a new ride and attractions.
The theme park has unveiled plans for new land LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures, where ‘mythical Lego creatures come to life’.
Although the resort’s planners are remaining tight-lipped about exactly what’s in store, they have promised “thrilling new attractions and experiences, including a never-before-seen UK ride”.
There’s no exact opening date yet, but the land is already under construction and set to open in spring 2021.
To celebrate the milestone moment, the theme park unveiled a teaser video – and it looks like some mythical monsters will be roaming the new land.
The clip seems to offer plenty of hints around the types of things visitors can expect.
For example, it suggests there are mythical monsters around, including the sound of giant feet causing the resort to shake, a winged shadow flying overhead and an ice storm engulfing the entrance.
Meanwhile, there seems to be a mysterious portal which allows the creatures to enter the Legoland world…
LEGO MYTHICA will be the resort’s single biggest investment since Legoland opened its gates 25 years ago.
Thomas Jellum, Divisional Director at the LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, said: “What better way to celebrate our 25 birthday than by unveiling a completely unique experience like nothing else we have launched at the Resort since we opened.
“At the heart of LEGO MYTHICA: World of Mythical Creatures will be epic rides, including a UK first, and breath-taking mythical creatures designed to capture children’s imaginations and inspire them to build and play.
“Our new land has been two years in the making and co-created with families to make sure it delivers what children and their parents want from a theme park in 2021. We can’t wait to share more details soon.”
