Norwegian Air has already firmly established itself as a force to be reckoned with for cheap flights to the USA, but now the budget carrier is upping the stakes once again.
The airline has just unveiled its summer 2020 flights schedule, and revealed that it will be increasing the number of services it operates to the USA including routes to San Francisco and Denver.
Considering Norwegian offers fares from £155 each way to the USA (based on flights from London Gatwick to JFK in New York), it’s good news for holidaymakers on a budget.
The airline is set to increase a number of routes departing from London Gatwick to popular USA destinations, which it says comes due to increasing demand from passengers.
The services set to have extra flights include:
- Gatwick to San Francisco, which will become a daily service (up from five flights a week)
- Gatwick to Austin and Denver, both of which will have four flights a week (up from three)
- Gatwick to Tampa, which will have three flights a week (up from two)
The extra routes will be on offer from the 29th March 2020, and will run through the summer 2020 schedule – but early birds can already book them on the Norwegian website .
There will be plenty of choice too, as the increased services mean an extra 75,000 seats on offer.
Matthew Wood, SVP Commercial at Norwegian said: “In line with our business strategy of moving from growth to profitability we are ensuring that we concentrate on key routes across our network where we see strong demand.
“These frequency adjustments ensure that our customers can have more choice when choosing their flights to the US at fares that remain affordable to all.”
It’s worth noting that some of the cheapest rates on offer are based on a LowFare ticket, which includes a 10kg hand baggage allowance – that’s one cabin bag and a small personal item.
Of course Norwegian already boasts an impressive offering of flights to the USA, with destinations such as New York, Boston, Miami, Orlando and Los Angeles available to book.
But the US isn’t its only long-haul offering; the airline also boasts routes to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.
