Ole Gunnar Solskjaer responds to Bruno Fernandes taking Jose Mourinho stance

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Bruno Fernandes’ message of unity amid claims of a crisis at Manchester United.

Fernandes channeled his inner Jose Mourinho to deliver a message to the world, in which he adopted a siege mentality.

“If anyone wants to cause a conflict within Manchester it’s not me nor any teammate,” said the Portugal international.

“They are outsiders, they want to create a bad atmosphere in the dressing room and they will not succeed, because the group is united and is focused on giving an important answer already in Newcastle.”

Mourinho has been known to adopt a siege mentality, and did so often when he was Manchester United boss.

The us vs the world mentality can sometimes be harmful, as Mourinho discovered, but on this occasion it has received the backing of the United boss.

“It’s one of those things that you have to get over it as soon as you can and move on,” said Solskjaer of United’s defeat by Tottenham.

“Bruno spoke really well the other day about we are united, we have to stay together. We can’t listen to everyone outside. We’ve got to just get on with it.”

United have started the season poorly and are down in 16th after three matches.

The Red Devils were beaten by Crystal Palace on the opening day and battered 6-1 by Spurs last time out.

Solskjaer and Fernandes are confident Man Unitede can turn things around

Solskjaer is looking for a response, and is backing United’s deadline day signings to make the difference.

“We look forward to integrating the new signings,” Solskjaer added.

“All three of them have got something we don’t have and the rest of the group are looking forward to them being added.”
