Paul Pogba ‘demands new double-your-money £600k-a-week deal’ to stay at Man Utd

Paul Pogba has demanded Manchester United double his salary to £600k a week, according to latest reports from Italy.

United midfielder Pogba is believed to be ready to try and force a move in January, having been courted by Real Madrid and Juventus over the summer.

The France star is contracted to United until 2021, but he and agent Mino Raiola have recently agreed to enter negotiations over a new deal.

United stood firm on their £180million valuation of the World Cup winner amid interest from Real and Juventus this summer, after Pogba declared it would be a “dream” to play for the La Liga giants.

But Pogba is reported to have demanded that if the Red Devils want to keep him, they must double his £15m-per-year pay packet.

And after a mixed start to the season for United, the midfielder doesn’t want to wait until next summer but is keen to leave in the new year, according to The Sun .

Pogba was missing when United goalkeeper David de Gea took his teammates out for a bonding meal following United’s penalty shootout win over Rochdale in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday.

United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said that was because of an ankle injury the 26-year-old picked up against Rochdale, which makes him a doubt for Monday’s visit of Arsenal to Old Trafford.

Solskjaer said on Friday: “The situation is he finished the game, 90 minutes, which was fantastic, but he got a knock to his ankle which is very swollen.

“So it was better not to go there with the team and he’s in a race for Monday. But that’s the way it is.”
