The 13 man-made wonders of the world from the Louvre in Paris to magnificent Petra

These breathtaking landmarks and attractions are among places on the top of most of our bucket lists.

From amazing monuments, like Ahu Tongariki on Easter Island, to museums such as the Louvre in Paris, France, this list of man-made wonders boasts an array of stunning sites.

The following photographs capture these places at their most majesty.

They also include the Leshan Giant Buddha, which sits in an area listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1996.

And Petra, Jordan, is a whole historical and archaeological city, built possibly as early as 5th Century BC.

It lies in a basin among the mountains which form the eastern flank of the Arabah valley which runs from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba.
