Best things to see and do

The Rock of Gibraltar

This iconic landmark stands at an impressive height of 426m, and it’s well worth a climb to the top for the views of the Mediterranean Sea and North Africa.

Meanwhile the Rock itself is home to plenty of historic and cultural gems including the eye-catching St. Michael’s Cave, not to mention there are 300 wild monkeys that have made the reserve their home (but don’t feed or interact with them, they’re wild animals!).

Don some comfortable shoes and pack plenty of water as the walk can be quite gruelling at times, and there are some stretches without much shade or places to sit and rest.

Don’t fancy the hike? You can ride a cable car to the top.

Europa Point

The southernmost point of Gibraltar offers up some beautiful panoramics, and there are plenty of places where you can stop and enjoy a cocktail at sunset to take in views of the Strait of Gibraltar and Moroccan coast.

Fun fact – it’s also the home of the only Trinity lighthouse outside of mainland UK.
