This brie-lliant cheese festival will take place next month and it’s free to get in

Cheese, is one of our most important food groups (yes, ok that is slightly factually inaccurate but it’s so good that’ll you’ll have to excuse the hyperbole) and a much loved snack of many. So it’s no surprise that they’re are even festivals catering to the vast different ranges and types of cheese.

‘We Love Cheese’ festival will take place Saturday 11 May (12pm – 6pm) and Sunday 12 May (11am-5pm) at Battersea Power Station, and will be free to visit. You can find out more information on their website here .

Cheese lovers will be able to sample cheesy street food, special menus and cheese sellers from around the globe plus all your favourite cheese board accompaniments with charcuterie, fresh breads, olives, sauces and speciality produce.

There will also be a ‘We Love Cheese Cup’, where the county’s best producers and importers will battle it out to be crowned the champoin. You can take part in this too, and help choose the winner.

Just purchase the Purchase Your ‘Cheese Cup Tasting Card   which will let you taste of all the cheeses in the competition and you’ll get one complimentary drink (Advanced price £8 + booking fee or £12 on the day).

This year they’ve also partnered with Vagabond Urban Winery for the very first time, and have partnered together to feature the ‘Battersea Bites’ tent, which is a ‘curated programme of talks, panels and masterclasses including matching cheeses with wines and beers, live music, a kids’ craft area and the return of the Wheel of Cheese to be in with a chance of winning special prizes’.

The event will feature some of the countrys best cheeses and cheese makers, including Capo Caccia, Une Normande à Londres, Alsop and Walker, L’Ubriaco Drunk Cheese and Bath Soft Cheese.

You can expect to find fromage delights such  the likes of Raclette Brothers’ Alpine dishes, Mac To The Future’ signature mac’n’cheese and The Toasty Badger’s oozy toasties plus all your favourite cheese board accompaniments with charcuterie, fresh breads, olives, sauces and speciality produce.

It’s a great day out!

Kate McKenzie, Director of KMC Squared/ Eat Me Drink Me, said “We are absolutely thrilled to be bringing our much-loved event, We Love Cheese to the foot of such an iconic London landmark. Following two hugely successful events in 2018, We Love Cheese at Battersea Power Station will be the biggest and best to date, spanning across the whole weekend, and accommodating more visitors. We are particularly excited to be working with Vagabond to give the event a greater emphasis on wine.”

We think it looks great. Find out more here at http://www.welovecheesefest.co.uk/ .
