TUI’s cruise lines are offering passengers the option to amend their holiday for free due to the ongoing uncertainty during the pandemic.
Both Marella Cruises, which offers ocean sailings, and TUI River Cruises are extending their free amends policies.
This means that if you book a cruise and no longer wish to travel, you can have one free amend up to 21 days before your departure.
The policy applies to any new bookings made by the 31st December 2020, but will be valid on any cruise sailing before the 31st October 2021.
Chris Hackney, Managing Director of Marella Cruises and TUI River Cruises said: “We understand some customers may feel a little uncertain about booking a cruise whilst travel advice hasn’t changed and so we wanted to offer flexibility for those wanting to secure their summer 2021 cruise with us with the added reassurance that if they no longer wish to travel they can amend for free.”
At the time of writing, TUI has cancelled all Marella Cruises until the 15th November.
If you already have a cruise holiday booked with the company that’s due to depart between the 16th November and 31st March 2021, the cruise lines are offering you the option to amend your booking for free to any TUI holiday on sale.
However, you’ll need to claim this free amend by the 31st October 2020.
You can find out more information in TUI’s coronavirus FAQs page.
As for TUI River Cruises, these are all cancelled until the 25th November 2020.
At the time of writing, the Foreign Office currently advises Brits against all cruise ship travel that includes a “sea-going cruise ship”.
Cruise lines around the world have been forced to temporarily suspend operations or reduce their sailings, with some companies such as Saga, Viking Cruises and P&O Cruises all cancelling sailings until 2021.
We’ve got a guide on when cruise lines plan to restart with more information, including which sailings are currently cancelled.
