First, Walmart introduced free two-day shipping (and returns) on orders over $35 without requiring a membership fee, which is something not even Amazon offers. Now they’ve set their scopes on a section most customers look elsewhere for: Fashion.
Walmart has partnered with Lord & Taylor to bring you collections from numerous designer labels in what they’re calling Premium Brands. Basically, you’re getting access to over 125 high-end brands without the ridiculous high-end prices.
The fashion focus isn’t what we’d normally expect from a budget-friendly store like Walmart, which is why it’s so groundbreaking and newsworthy. (We’re like WTF, but in a good way.) You probably already buy your groceries, pet food, cleaning supplies, and more home essentials at Walmart, and now clothing, too? That’s the definition of a one-stop shop.
One more thing: Online shopping for clothes, shoes, and sunglasses can be risky AF, as you have no idea how things will fit or differ from how they’re advertised. Luckily, Walmart’s free shipping and returns make trying on multiple items and sending back the ones you don’t like a breeze.
We’ve pulled out a few of the brands we’re extra impressed by, but you can find the full lineup here.
#SavingMoneyInMyCalvins is how the hashtag works, right? Calvin Klein has always been a hot brand and is known for its hot as hell ad campaigns featuring huge celebs. Walmart is offering premium denim, everyday t-shirts, classy jackets, and underwear sets for both men and women at a fraction of the price you’d expect. Don’t be afraid to show these puppies off on Instagram.
Future so bright, you need shades? As one of the best-known brands in eyewear (or in general, honestly) Ray-Ban is also probably one of the brands with the most imposters. It can be difficult to decipher between real ones and knock-offs, and that knock-off price can be pretty tempting — especially when sunglasses are so easy to lose. Walmart is helping you get the best of both worlds, offering real designer pairs for men and women in tons of affordable styles. Pairs will still be over $100, but that’s a steal considering you could easily be spending double that on the official site.
Some people have dating problems, some people have gambling problems, and some people have shoe problems. Footwear addicts will be psyched about Walmart’s Steve Madden collection for women, featuring deals on tons of the brand’s best-sellers (including ones sold out at other places) in everything from sandals and flats to thigh-high boots and glam heels.
Karl Lagerfeld is known for gorgeously detailed handbags, heels, dresses, and other business casual pieces that look like they’re straight off the runway. (Oh, except you’ll be getting a bag or coat for $50 when they’re around $400 on the official website.) You’re about to be the best-dressed lady in the office.
Men who hate shoe shopping and men who love shopping can both rejoice about this one: Kenneth Cole New York has one of the nicest collections of men’s dress shoes we’ve ever seen, and Walmart having all the classics in one place makes picking out your new go-to pair so easy. Find leather loafers, casual Friday slip-ons, as well as some button-up shirts, cufflinks, and money clips to complete the look.
