Wizz Air is adding extra flights to the Canary Islands to its schedule, and fares start from £26.99 each way.
The Canary Islands were added to the UK’s travel corridors last week, meaning that Brits who return won’t need to quarantine for 14 days. In more good news, the Foreign Office has also changed its travel advice, no longer advising against non-essential travel. (Which also means your travel insurance will be valid if you go on holiday).
Wizz Air currently offers flights from London Luton to Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria and Tenerife, as well as routes from Doncaster Sheffield to Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
It’s also set to add extra flights from London Gatwick, with services to Tenerife kicking off from the 31st October, as well as routes to Fuerteventura from the 1st November.
You can already book the flights on the Wizz Air website.
When we took a look, there were still £26.99 fares on offer – but it’s worth noting that these were for ‘Basic’ bookings which only include a carry-on bag and online check-in.
Extras such as a checked in bag and seat selection aren’t included – if you want these as part of a booking, then fares will start from around £68 each way.
Of course the pandemic can mean that travel restrictions are quite volatile, but the airline does offer a flexible booking option, Wizz Flex (although you’ll need to pay extra – prices range from €5-€15).
This allows you to cancel your flight for free up to three hours before your departure, and you’ll receive 100% of the original fare back in airline credit. (You can also opt to change your travel dates free of charge).
