Planes aren’t exactly renowned for being the cleanest of settings.
But the good news is that airlines are upping the stakes when it comes to keeping their cabins in tip top conditions.
In fact, SKYTRAX’s awards for the World’s Best Airline Cabin Cleanliness in 2019 have been announced, revealing the airlines which have been praised by passengers for their cabins.
The passengers surveyed were asked to rate the standards and quality of cleanliness across a host of factors including the seats and seating areas, the tables, the carpets, the toilets/washrooms, and even the cabin panels.
Topping the list is Taiwanese airline EVA Air, while Japanese companies Japan Airlines and ANA All Nippon Airways took the second and third spots respectively.
Unfortunately, it’s not particularly great news for Brits. Out of the top 20 airlines on the list, there isn’t a single UK airline which features for 2019.
Of course that’s not to say the airlines don’t have clean cabins – but they just haven’t made the cut for the top 20 in the world.
The silver lining is that there were some European airlines which did impress passengers with their clean cabins, and they all operate routes to/from the UK; Swiss International Air Lines, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Finnair.
