Pet owners will know that planning a holiday can be tricky when you’re trying to work out what to do with your beloved animal.
Luckily, Hotels.com is making life a little easier for owners! That’s because the brand is currently looking for ‘Creature Critics’ to try out its pet-friendly hotels.
Yup, they’re after pets to come and try out the various destinations – and owners can come along too.
In fact, you’ll get paid in 10 x $150 Hotels.com vouchers. Each voucher is valid for a one-night stay, so that’s 10 different getaways to be had.
Previously the brand has offered the opportunities to dog owners, but this year it’s throwing out the offer to include all pets – bunnies, cats, dogs, frogs and more!
Your pet needs to meet three key criteria: have a taste for ‘the #HotelLife’, have bags of personality and (most importantly) can fit in a hotel room.
Think your pet has what it takes? Simply head to Instagram and share your favourite photo of your pet, tag and follow @hotelsdotcom and #CreatureCritics.
Alternatively, you can enter on Twitter by tagging and following @hotelsdotcomUK and #CreatureCritics, and explaining why you think your pet should win.
You’ll need to apply by Friday 9th October.
They have big shoes to fill – last year saw Dolly Pawton, a diva chihuahua with over 164,000Instagram followers, serving as a Canine Critic.
Hotels.com has launched the initiative after research from the brand found that over a third of UK pet owners feel stress at the idea of being separated from their pets post-COVID.
In fact, the website notes an increase by 300% in searches for pet-friendly hotels.
The study showed that nearly half of Brits prefer to take their pet on holiday rather than leaving them behind. Oh, and nearly a fifth admitted they thought their pet was less stressful to travel with than people!
Don’t be disheartened if your animal doesn’t bag one of the Creature Critic roles – Hotels.com has a handy Loved by Guests Pet Friendly Collection with heaps of inspiration for pet-friendly getaways.
Emma Tagg, Senior Global Brand Communications Manager at Hotes.com says: “With lockdown making us clingier than ever, it’s no surprise that no-one wants to leave their pet pal behind.
“At Hotels.com we want to make sure each pet-friendly hotel is up to scratch, which is why we launched the Pet Friendly category within our Loved By Guests awards.
“But the reality is we can’t review all the hotels ourselves, and honestly – what do us humans know? We’re ready for a red hot team of Creature Critics to take the lead, so pet owners, and pets, can rest assured that the hotels have been reviewed by the best.”
