You can now spend a night at the real Downton Abbey thanks to Airbnb

Have you ever wanted to spend a night living in absolute luxury like the Crawley family – eating the finest food and being waited on hand and foot?

Well, fans of Downton Abbey will soon be able to experience this fantasy first hand at the real life filming location of their favourite show.

Yes, for one night only two very lucky people will have the chance to stay at Highclere Castle in Newbury – aka the real Downton Abbey.

The guests will join the castle’s current residents, Lord and Lady Carnarvon on November 26, 2019, for an evening of cocktails and a traditional dinner.

After being thoroughly wined and dined, the party will head to the Library for coffee, before retiring to one of the castle’s many bedrooms for a good night’s sleep.

And if that weren’t enough, guests will also be treated to a lavish breakfast the next morning and a private tour of Highclere’s grounds and the 300 rooms inside the iconic building.

Lord and Lady Carnarvon also plan to give their guests a special gift so they can “enjoy a little bit of Highclere Castle at home”.

In exchange for all of this, the one-night stay will set you back £150.

A butler will be on hand to serve them – just like in the show

And they’ll spend a night living like royalty

The stay is being arranged by Airbnb and the listing will go live on the website on October 1 as 12pm BST.

Lady Carnarvon said: “It’s an absolute privilege and pleasure to call Highclere Castle my home and I am delighted to be able to share it on Airbnb for a truly unique stay.

“Highclere Castle has been in the Carnarvon family since 1679 and has an incredibly rich history.

“I am passionate about the stories and heritage of Highclere Castle, and I am looking forward to welcoming our future guests.”
